Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's Annual Washington D.C. Opening Night Gala Benefit At Kennedy Center For Performing Arts - February 6

(Washington, D.C.) January 25, 2018 – On Tuesday, February 6, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s annual Washington, D.C. Opening Night Gala Benefit kicks off the opening of its week-long engagement at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. After the 7pm opening program on the Opera House stage – featuring performances of a D.C. premiere, new production, and Alvin Ailey’s American masterpiece Revelations – Artistic Director Robert Battle and Ailey’s renowned dancers will join guests for dinner and dancing on the Terrace Level of the Kennedy Center.

Ailey II - The Next Generation Of Dance - Returns To The Ailey Citigroup Theater March 14-15

January 25, 2018 (New York, NY) – On the heels of a 32-city world tour, Ailey II returns to The Ailey Citigroup Theater from March 14 – 25 for its annual New York season. The 12 talented young dancers will prove that they are “second to none” (Dance magazine) in dynamic works by some of the most exciting emerging choreographers, including premieres by Juel D. Lane, Renee I. McDonald, and Darrell Grand Moultrie, and returning favorites by Jae Man Joo, Bridget L. Moore, and former Ailey dancer Marcus Willis.

Marking a Decade at the Adrienne Arsht Center, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Announces Programming for Miami Engagement February 22-25, 2018

NEW YORK – January 18, 2018 — Led by Liberty City native and Artistic Director Robert Battle, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater announces programming for celebration of a decade at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County Thursday, February 22 - Sunday, February 25. The highly-anticipated Miami engagement is co-presented by the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County as part of the Center’s Knight Masterworks Season - Dance Series, which is offered with support from Knight Foundation. The engagement is also supported by Ailey Tour Sponsor Bank of America.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Announces Programming for Fox Theatre Engagement from February 14-18, 2018

ATLANTA – January 11, 2018 — For more than four decades, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has dazzled audiences in Atlanta, and the Company will move the crowd once again during this year’s return to the Fabulous Fox Theatre February 14 – 18, 2018. Six breathtaking performances will showcase the brilliance of Ailey’s 32 dancers, shine a spotlight on social issues with timely and topical works, and pay homage to love and legacy through two special programs: “A Night to Love” on a Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, February 14, featuring a one-night-only program of duets celebrating love; and “MLK50: Celebrating the Legacy” on Friday, February 16, honoring the life and works of Atlanta’s greatest peacemaker, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as the 50th anniversary of his death approaches in April.

Premier Ailey Dancers Teach The Company’s Signature Style During New York City Center Season

(New York, NY) November 13, 2017 – Ailey Extension welcomes leading dancers from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to teach three special workshops during the company’s New York City Center holiday season (November 29 – December 31). Former Ailey dancer and creator of Ailey Barre Sarita Allen teaches choreography from Alvin Ailey’s popular work Night Creature, and company members Hope Boykin and Michael Jackson, Jr. lead workshops that will feature Alvin Ailey’s signature style and expand the artistic range of students.

(New York) November 9, 2017 – On Wednesday, November 29th at 7pm, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s five-week holiday season kicks off with a star-studded gala benefit, including a performance at New York City Center and party at the New York Hilton Midtown Grand Ballroom. The Gala honors Ailey Board President Debra L. Lee (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BET Networks) for her commitment to the advancement of arts and culture and her dedication to the organization, which has helped steer Ailey to success since she joined the Board in 2002. Honorary Chairs for the evening are music and film stars Queen Latifah and Janelle Monáe.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Announces Programming for New York City Center Season, November 29 - December 31

NEW YORK – UPDATED October 27, 2017 — Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Center’s Principal Dance Company, returns to the theater’s stage from November 29th – December 31st, 2017. Artistic Director Robert Battle leads Ailey’s 32 extraordinary dancers during this annual five-week engagement, which has become a joyous holiday tradition. The repertory features more than two dozen diverse works by some of the world’s preeminent dance-makers, including world premieres by Spanish choreographer Gustavo Ramírez Sansano and Ailey dancer Jamar Roberts, as well as new productions by Twyla Tharp, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, and Talley Beatty.

New York – October 24, 2017 – Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is pleased to announce Rue Montorgueil, a joyful short film hat sprang to life on a bustling Parisian street when Ailey company members performed with local dancers - people of different backgrounds, talents and nationalities joined together through the universal language of dance. Recognized by U.S. Congressional resolution as a vital American “Cultural Ambassador to the World,” Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater participated in the project during a 10-week international tour throughout Europe led by Artistic Director Robert Battle.
