Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater 2012 New York City Center Season Announcement

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world’s most popular dance companies and New York City Center’s Principal Dance Company, returns for the 41st consecutive year to the New York City Center stage from November 28, 2012 – December 30, 2012 with exciting performances that have become a joyous holiday tradition. Artistic Director Robert Battle will continue to surprise and delight audiences with premieres and new productions that expand his vision for the company, adding dynamic choreographic voices to the repertory that challenge Ailey’s extraordinary artists in new ways.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will kick-off a five-week holiday season on November 28th with a star-studded gala benefit performance at New York City Center and party at the Hilton New York. Academy award-winning actress and comedienne Mo’Nique will serve as the evening’s Honorary Chair and Alvin Ailey’s timeless masterpiece Revelations will be sung live with special celebrity guests onstage.

AileyCamp Enriches Inner-City Youth This Summer In 10 Cities Nationwide

AileyCamp, the innovative full-scholarship day camp, will provide approximately one thousand inner-city students in 10 cities across the United States this summer with an inspiring six-week program that uses the art of dance as a means to stretch their minds, bodies and spirits.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Returns To Paris June 25 To July 21 For Engagement At Les Etes De La Danse 8th Annual International Dance Festival

The 32-performance engagement, supported by Bank of American Merrill Lynch, follows successful sold-out and extended festival appearances in 2009 and 2006. After an acclaimed 27-city North American Tour, Ailey's extraordinary dancers will move audiences in France in a series of 15 premieres, new productions and repertory favorites, sharing internationally the next era in Ailey history led by dynamic Artistic Director Robert Battle.

10th Annual Ailey At The Apollo - Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Stars of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, gifted young dancers from The Ailey School and, for the first time ever, talented students from AileyCamp will come together for a spectacular one-night performance on Tuesday, May 8th at 7pm on the world famous Apollo stage. Led by new Artistic Director Robert Battle, the Spring Gala Benefit performance will be at the Apollo Theater (253 W 125th Street, between 7th & 8th Avenues). A gala party with festive dress, décor and dancing to music by the famed DJ Ruckus will conclude the 10th annual celebration.
