On December 2nd, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will kick off a five-week holiday season with a star-studded gala benefit including a performance at New York City Center and party at the New York Hilton Midtown Grand Ballroom. This year’s gala will honor BNY Mellon for its major support of The Ailey Organization since 2007 and Agnes & Gerald Hassell will accept on the institution’s behalf.

Four outstanding works by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, one of the world’s leading modern dance companies, will come to the big screen on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 pm (local time) as the second installment of Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance. Designated by a U.S. Congressional resolution as a vital American “Cultural Ambassador to the World,” the Company will perform its beloved signature work, Revelations, the American dance masterpiece created by founder Alvin Ailey.

Ailey II Performs In 26 Cities on 2015-2016 US Tour

This Friday, Ailey II will embark on a 26-city US tour running through March 13th. The tour will take the stellar 12 member ensemble to Towson, MD; Memphis, TN; Pittsburgh, PA; Albuquerque, NM; New Orleans, LA; and Durham, NC among many others.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Opens Tonight in South Africa

Tonight marks the beginning of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s return to South Africa nearly two decades after historic residencies in post-apartheid South Africa in 1997 and 1998, following the lifting of the international cultural boycott. Recognized by U.S. Congressional Resolution as a vital American “Cultural Ambassador to the World,” Ailey will perform in Johannesburg at Teatro at Montecasino from September 3 – 13 and – for the first time – Cape Town at Opera House, Artscape from September 16 – 20.
